UN’s
convention for the right of the child (CRC) - Article
No. 23 of CRC 1981says
"The
disabled child has a right to special care, education
and training so as to help him / her enjoy a full and
decent life and to achieve, as far as possible, the
greatest degree of self reliance and social
interaction"
Rising Sun Education and Welfare Society is
community based, not for profit organisation, working
for the welfare of the special (mentally disabled)
children in Pakistan. Under its umbrella, the society
has founded Rising
Sun Institute for Special Children that endeavors to
provide education and training facilities to the
mentally disabled children in the city of Lahore. The
institute with its two campuses serves over 200 special
children with the assistance of a specially trained and
qualified teachers and assistants.
